Builders of any aircraft kit that would normally be powered by a 1.20 or 1.50 single-cylinder four-stroke can enjoy the silky smooth power and sound that a radial engine offers. Saito's FA-170R3 Radial Engine fits neatly into cowls of 8-1/4 inches or larger and is the perfect power plant for Goldberg's® Sukhoi or Midwest's® AT-6. Outside, gloss-black cylinders, and chrome valve covers give this Saito a form that is as elegant as its function. Inside the three chrome-plated cylinders, ringed aluminum pistons deliver enough power to turn a 15 x 8 prop at 9,000 rpm. The three cylinders are fed by a single two-needle carburetor mounted on the back of the engine. The FA-170R3 includes 2-1/2 inch extractor pipes. Optional flex pipes (sold separately) are available to channel the exhaust in the most compact of cowling spaces.
